Dear Teachers,

I am very pleased to let you know that the Salvador Dalí Museum's award-winning video, "Get Surreal with Salvador Dalí" has been formatted with closed captions and is currently available for loan to Florida teachers.

A half-hour, fast-paced adventure through the worlds of Dalí, Surrealism, and the Museum, "Get Surreal" is intended for Middle School ages and below. In addition to touching on the basics of the art movement and the life and times of Dalí and his art, student hosts Matt & Tiffany also explain how to do several surrealist art activities including "The Exquisite Corpse" and "Automatic Writing."

The video is also incorporated into the Museum's set of interdisciplinary lesson plans which are available online at the museum's web site (www.salvadordalimuseum.org). These lesson plans integrate visual arts, language arts, social studies and marine science and can help your students to achieve FCAT, Sunshine State Standards, and Florida Writes goals.

Please pass the word that this resource is now available to Florida teachers and students. Teachers wishing to borrow a copy of the video may contact:
